From the 15th to 18th of January, Ecuador will host the most important event in science, entrepreneurship and innovation of 2015 in Yachay City, with a vast program of activities for the general public to learn about the latest trends in global innovation, as well as scientific projects being developed in Ecuador.
INNOPOLIS, Knowledge is Freedom, will be a space for exchanging experiences and knowledge on creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation, with the participation of experts from the USA, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Mexico and Ecuador, among others.
The National Innovation System will also be presented in INNOPOLIS. The system seeks to impact on the socio-economic sectors of Ecuadorian society, towards a culture of innovation that involves creative and proactive citizens, whose talent will contribute to the efficient resolution of the demands of the population, in order to support the transformation of the productive matrix of the country.
This event will also be the opening of the Yachay City Center of Entrepreneurship, a collaborative environment to support the innovation and technology-based entrepreneurship of Ecuador’s human talent.
The public can participate in an exhibition of science and technology of the most outstanding projects from universities, public research institutes, public and private companies, in the topics of: biodiversity, agriculture, health, space science, geophysics, geochemistry, renewable energy, energy efficiency, archeology, computing and telecommunications.
With the simultaneous development of these activities, the event seeks harmony between all components of the National Innovation System, with the perfect combination of academia, the business sector and the state, for the achievement of a creative and research-focused Ecuador
INNOPOLIS will feature keynote presentations, forums and specialized panels with the presence of international experts from the likes of Jeremy Abbett (Germany), creative evangelist/leader at Google, voted one of the 100 most influential people in the European digital industry; Greg Horowitt (USA), creator of the “Rainforest Canvas” methodology for innovation ecosystems and Leonardo Maldonado (Chile), architect of innovation ecosystems, among other exponents.
INNOPOLIS, is more than a business fair or an exhibition of research, it is a place where academia and the public and private sectors will exchange experiences with the sole purpose of strengthening the ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation at the national level.
