On the 24th and 25th of November, the city of Quito, will host the ” First Symposium on the History of Science and Scientific Thought in Ecuador “, an event organized by Yachay Public Company and the National Academy of History.
The objective of this academic event is to analyse the historical journey of science and scientific thought in Ecuador in relation to internationally experienced progress.
The event will address the development of disciplines such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Health Sciences and Earth Sciences, in collaboration with leading professionals from different scientific fields who have contributed to the development of research in the country.
The Symposium will be held in the “Guzmán Manuel Polanco” Auditorium of the National Academy of History of Ecuador, located on Av. 6 de Diciembre and Roca in Quito, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
National Academy of History
The Ecuadorian Society of American Historical Studies was born on July 24th, 1909, and inspired by Federico González Suárez. In 1920 it became the National History Academy, becoming an intellectual and scientific institution.
The institution forms part of the Iberoamerican Association of National Academies of History and has several chapters in Guayaquil, Cuenca, Manabí, among other cities .
It has made ongoing scientific research and advice in cooperation with universities, ministries and local governments.
