A man who takes risks, whose leadership and charisma have been the main drivers to bring forward ideas that are currently leading the country into a new economy based on knowledge. The deep love for his family and friends will also spread to the people working directly and indirectly, thus he has a high sensitivity to other people’s problems and an unwavering commitment to fight for the construction of a fair and equitable Ecuador. His inspiring workforce began at an early age, with his participation as a student leader and later as manager of public policies in education, science and technology. Among his hobbies, he enjoys reading, indoor soccer and bike rides.

Fernando Cornejo León
His concern for national problems and his unwavering commitment to contribute to solving the social problems of Ecuador have developed Fernando Cornejo’s passion for politics and argumentative debate. He is a physician and policy manager in the area of science and technology in the country. Since the age of 20 years old he has worked as a teacher, a profession that has a two-way learning dynamic: to share but also acquire knowledge. He is also a voracious reader, lover of classical music, regular surfer on the net and protector of the rights of animals. He enjoys soccer and the serenity that his home provides.

Beyond his determined temperament and good sense of humor, which have characterized him throughout his life, Ramiro Moncayo is an extremely inquisitive man, with big ambitions. He is very strict and passionate about working to the best of his abilities. When not at Yachay, he is probably at the movies, playing sports or enjoying a game of football with his family and friends. In his constant search for happiness, he has learned to enjoy the simple things in life as children do. , He has two children: Ariel and Mateo. They are the generator engine for his existence and perseverance every day.

Andrés Troya Meneses
Andrés Troya se graduó como Ingeniero Civil de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador y más adelante como magíster en Hidráulica Ambiental, en la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Fue consultor ambiental en la Empresa Metropolitana de Alcantarillado y Agua Potable – EMAAP-Quito y más adelante asesor de despacho en el Ministerio de Minas y Petróleos.
Ha trabajado como evaluador y fiscalizador en varias instituciones tanto nacionales como internacionales. En el año 2009 trabajó alrededor de varios proyectos agropecuarios y de gestión de riego.
En el Ministerio de Justicia, Derechos Humanos y Cultos fue asesor del despacho. Más tarde en el Ministerio del Interior se desempeñó como Subsecretario de Garantías Democráticas del Viceministerio de gobernabilidad.
En el año 2011 fue asesor secretario nacional del Proyecto de Inversión Pública Yachay, Ciudad del Conocimiento en la Secretaría Nacional de Educación Superior, Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación – SENESCYT. Al año siguiente fue asesor del Fiscal de la Nación.
Actualmente desempeña el cargo de gerente de Infraestructura y Fiscalización en la Empresa Pública Yachay, que se encarga de la construcción de la Ciudad del Conocimiento.
Juan Carlos Moreno
Juan Carlos Moreno is persevering, organized and demanding with his team so that they give their best. He is also concerned with and interested in the welfare and human development of his people. He is a proactive and innovative man with a hard working attitude. He likes to travel to get to know the history of peoples and communities. Each time he visits a new place the first thing he admires is its historic center and the architecture as well as the everyday life that surrounds people in their ongoing interactions with each other. He enjoys the company of family and friends, soccer, national music and outdoor activities.

Her constant concern as part of society is respect for human rights and protection of the vulnerable. Her preferences in the professional field are criminal and public law even though she currently only fully exercises the latter: “The efficient and honest use of public resources is a daily opportunity to be consistent with all of society,” she says. This is Anabelle Plaza, a woman who likes the music of Silvio Rodríguez and Juan Manuel Serrat, and plays melodies on the guitar. She loves spending time with her family and her three children, who she instils values such as effort and solidarity, as well as to maintain a life in harmony between body and mind through constant practice of reading and sports. She enjoys nature and outdoor recreational activities.

Gabriela Díaz Peñafiel
Honesty, simplicity and humility of spirit are values that Gabriela Díaz shows. A woman that expresses simplicity and natural character for whom the values obtained at home, and being loyal to one’s convictions are vital components of human life. She treasures time with her family now, especially with little Thomás, the newest member in her home. She has played sports since a young age, and likes biking jogging and dancing, as well as reading.

The core values that define Rocío Gavilanes, besides discipline and every-day work tenacity, are responsibility, kindness and simplicity. She enjoys sharing quality time with loved ones. She loves classical music and nature, as well as the peace that emerges while gazing at a sunset or with the sound of falling water in a waterfall. Her entrepreneurial spirit has allowed her to travel the world and get to know other realities, which has helped her to appreciate her environment.

Innovation in high technology, electronics and current findings in the area of technology are the main passions of Miguel Loayza; he is a kind and creative man, as well as a visionary who as a child conceived technology as a tool for progress and human welfare. One of his great hobbies is reading about science and history. These areas of interest have allowed him to understand the path taken by societies over time and learn from the mistakes and successes of humanity. He is respectful of the animal world and an admirer of people who are passionate about what they do.

María Fernanda Luzuriaga
Honesty, openness and determination are the core values that distinguish María Fernanda Luzuriaga. A woman who greatly enjoys her free time with her family. She never misses a movie premiere with her son. During her youth she practiced many sports but currently does yoga, an activity that allows her to maintain a balance between mind and body, and also contributes to getting a better performance in her work life. She sees herself as a decisive professional with no limitations regarding her work projects. Quality of service and providing effective responses to the demands of the population are part of her daily working experience.
