“Yachay is part of the future of Ecuador, part of the change of era which President Correa always talks about,” said the National Secretary of Communication, Fernando Alvarado, during his tour of the City of Knowledge, on Sunday May 10th, as part of the celebration of Mother’s Day throughout the country.
Alvarado also invited citizens to observe, promote and check with their family and friends, that “Ecuador is changing … Ecuador is different and is a milestone for this change.” Yachay City of Knowledge, is a flagship project of the Ecuadorian government, which is built in Urcuquí, in province of Imbabura, and has an important record of work that has progressed “quickly and well”, said the head of Secom.
The National Secretary of Communication for the Government emphasized the transformation of the productive matrix of the country, through the generation of knowledge as an inexhaustible source of wealth, it is the flag that leads the current government policy, and suggests that Ecuador does not just consume the knowledge of others, but is a country which develops its own knowledge to put at the service of all countries of the world.
“As Ecuadorians we should be filled with pride and joy because there are few cities of knowledge in the world, where people live and conduct research and put it towards the servicing of society and humanity,” said the Secretary of State, as Yachay for him is an expression of these dynamics.Alvarado toured the “Innopolis” Center for Entrepreneurship, Heritage Campus part of the city where the Yachay Tech University operates, laboratories, the space where the Enfarma project is, as well as various tourist sites, seeing construction workers in full working capacity.
“When you start to understand the project in its full context, you realize we’re talking about a city of knowledge, not just a university city, but a city of knowledge that also has a university,” he said. (VE-CM / YACHAY EP)
