From 26 to 28 November, the Yachay Public Company organized the “Yachay: future strategies for development” workshop, with the participation of professor and scientist, Carlos Moreno, creator of the concept “digital and sustainable city”.
During the first day of the workshop with officials of the Public Company, Professor Moreno learned about the design and planning of the City of Knowledge, based on a master plan and various codes of urban planning, ensuring that Yachay is the first planned city in Ecuador.
During the second day of the workshop, Carlos Moreno met with officials to discuss about the research projects promoted by Yachay and how they contribute to the development of the new city and country.
The Colombian expert, pioneer of robotics and participant in one of the first French transfer centers “CERMA” technology in the technological city of Cachan, shared three days with Yachay Public Company officials and addressed topics such as living cities, Yachay’s research projects, innovation and productivity in smart cities.
He also visited the Heritage Campus of the city with the CEO, Hector Rodriguez, with whom he could discuss about his technological contributions regarding: pooling urban platforms, multi-technical and multiservice; intelligent street lighting; risk prevention in areas of chemical risk in France.
The program for the French army drones, robotics applied to genetic decoding, control reactors for the nuclear sector, in the offshore oil sector, assembly systems for the automotive industry, and innovation in general.
Carlos Moreno, has lived most of his life in France, where he has been involved in several research and technology transfer centers, he created his own laboratory for intelligent control of complex systems, especially infrastructure.
In 2014 he was president of the Scientific Committee Forum “Live in a Living City”, is currently professor and scientific advisor to the president of COFELY INEO, energy services. (VC-VE / YACHAY EP)
