On Friday November 14, over 80 student leaders visited Yachay City of Knowledge, under the First International Meeting of Student Leaders (ESC), as part of the agenda developed on November 11th in the country. This meeting aims to discuss higher education access and quality of education, and the role of the student movement in a knowledge society at the local, Latin American and global context. Student delegations from Latin American, European and Middle Eastern countries shared a working lunch with Hector Rodriguez, CEO of Yachay Public Company and Fernando Albericio, rector of Yachay Tech.
In his lecture, , Rodriguez invited young people to reflect on the role and challenges that the current youth have nowadays “young people should develop an understanding of the country from a geopolitical context, breaking the mould and generating innovative approaches to social impact,” he said. “I leave with a feeling of happiness, knowing from this meeting the enormous momentum that Ecuador is giving higher education,” a Greek leader said.
